First of all I would like to thank my very good friend Malcolm Straughan of Alnwick for breeding this fantastic little hen who I call Lucky Lou.She has had three races and on the third race she arrived home badly damaged by a hawk so I rested her for 3 weeks and the following week I but her in the fed race where she came home with my fed winner but unfortunately she went on the house top hesitating to come down. The following week was the Fougeres race which I promised her I would enter her which she won 1st section and 1st open .The week after the national race she had 1 week of rest and went to the next race which unfortunately she was badly hawked once again then I decided to retire her.Her breeding is mainly Leo Hermans from the lofts of Jonathan Jackson of Cornwall.

He has been a really consistent performer for us gaining several good section positions and coming into this race was always the last one to come in after exercise. I would like to thank the MNFC officials and committee as well as the unsung marking station teams who without all their hard work we wouldn’t be able to participate in the ultimate challenge of racing our warriors from over the English Channel. Pictured with me is my loft manager and granddaughter Olivia who has named the section winner Bingo.
