Paul Corley - Bordeaux 2025

1st Open 1st North Centre Section Bordeaux

Cheq hen She is Menne and daughter xChris Pauwe. Her sire was gifted to me in 2022 by Mark Oliver from Guisely after a mink got into my loft and killed 13 of my birds .The dam I bought for stock from Paul O’Leary in Southhampton ,she is direct from Chris Paauwe in Holland who in the last few years has won the Dutch yearling national from Narbonne and the year previous 1st Dutch National from Dax.She had one channel race last year from Nor-Sur -Erdre and was timed in on a very tricky race after 14 hours and 48 minute to finish 2nd in Dews&Wakefield 3 bird club .She was very wet on arrival ,but was otherwise in very good condition and didn’t look tired .Never sent her again last year .This year she was flown through to Brighton with the Leeds Amal .Her first channel race this year was Vire with the MNFC where she was my first bird finishing 69th NC section and 452nd open and 5th Dews&Wakefield 3 bird club .Two weeks later she was sent to Fougeres where she was my 2nd pigeon finishing 57th NC and 507 open and 5th Dews&Wakefield 3 bird club .Both times she was untouched by either race .I then paired her up ,she had one club race from Bovingdon just over a week before being basketed for Bordeaux sitting a 4 day old young bird .She was in excellant condition when I sent her and I was confident she would do it ,she was duly pooled upto £5 and was my single entry .I was up early on the Saturday morning just in case ,but I expected them to arrive up here mid morning and I knew I had to be in before noon .She arrived at 11am and trapped immediately ,she had flown some weight off as expected in those conditions but was still in good condition after her long fly in xtremely difficult conditions with the high temperatures and NE wind .I would like to say a big Thankyou to Mark Oliver and Paul O’Leary for supplying her parents ,thanks must also go to Andy Holland as well for selling me some excellant channel pigeons over the last few years .Andy and Mark have become good friends and are both top class ,small team distance men who I have a lot of respect for ,they are both genuine pigeon men and both gentlemen .I would also like to thank you and the officials as you have been very helpful when Dennis and I have come down with our birds .This is my first year with the MNFC and I have been very impressed with the condition of the birds on return from the races .It’s great to see the birds being fed and watered by the conveyers on the whattsapp group and getting regular updates .Well done to you all .👏👏Sorry for this being a bit longwinded but it’s a dream come true for me
