R Eccles & Son - Falaise 2025

1st Open 1st South East Section Falaise

I have kept pigeons since i was a boy in Dublin and that was a long time ago. This yearling hen is flown on the natural system flying to eggs. This little hen must have flown France solo since she was so far in front. To say she was bred for the job. She is bred down from 2nd open midland young bird in 2020 from Catentan. On the other side is a Macaloney x Alwyn Hill.
I am extra pleased for my son Brendon who puts so much into the birds and also being secretary of our club for over 12 years.
I have now named our Hen BREAKAWAY GIRL.

2nd Open & 1st NE Section Simon Parkinson

The pigeon that managed to win 1st section and 2nd open Falaise was a yearling blue hen sitting 10 days. As every year I paired the birds up for the final MNFC race of the season and we had a terrific team performance with 6 of the 12 birds sent in the top 40 open.

The yearling hen had been raced as a widowhood hen at the beginning of the season and had been my best performing old bird all season scoring in almost every race she was sent too.

Her father is bred from my F Damen & Son birds which I introduced as latebreds in 2002, and they are already proving an excellent cross to my old families with children winning right through to National level. Her mother is ‘Princess Leah’ my 1st Open MNFC winner from Fourgeres; now at stock she is proving to be an outstanding breeder and is dam/ granddam to many high performing birds through to National level.

3rd & 4th Open, 2nd & 3rd SE Section M & D Godfrey

1st SC & 6th Open Mr & Mrs J Passey

Before I start I’d just like to say a big thank you to my wonderful wife Kim who has been a massive help and supported me through the good and bad times. Also a thank you to the rest of the family who have put up with all the times when the holidays were put on hold so we could pursue this great sport of ours.

I’d also like to mention the two people who without them we couldn’t have enjoyed the success that we’ve been fortunate enough to have achieved, firstly my late father Alf who was also my best friend and whom I still miss every day and secondly the late Geoff Kirkland who provided the birds, guidance and friendship that we will forever treasure

The bird that is 1st section is a yearling blue pied hen bred from stock obtained from Simon Parkinson of Crowle. The dam is a full sister to the dam of our Fougeres section winner from the second MNFC race this season. We have now won the section at three different locations, at Austrey with my Dad, at Appleby Magna after my Dad passed away and now at our current address. She was sent on a 3 day old baby having raced on widowhood until the middle of June. She is named Beth after the Yellowstone TV character as she can also be pretty feisty.
